SEO : The Magic Bullet

SEO Ignoramus

Now that I’m active on forums I’m noticing all these guys (and presumably gals) who are looking for SEO Magick: what do I need to do so that my pages will rise high in - Google of course, naïve webmasters are so ready to dismiss other SE traffic as it isn’t, um “cool.”

Here’s a comment that I left on Digital Point:

You want things like the meta keyword and description (not all that important but if you can automate them worth dealing with), page URL and title element to match the specific content of each page.

With mature content management systems - like Movable Type and WordPress - this isn’t hard.

Not that it is magic: but it doesn’t hurt.

What you put on the pages has to be distinctive - I’d never dare say good - so that it grabs someone’s attention.

The most SEO optimized pages in the universe aren’t going to do much if all you do is announce that water happens to be wet.

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about SEO : The Magic Bullet. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
