Back to Writing About Webmastering
• Working On My Website
I put up my first website in the late 90s.
Time was when I took great pleasure in writing about my misadventures in webmastering (which MS Word tells me isn’t a legitimate word). Each new tool, accession of knowledge was recorded.
Then I got tired of it and started filling the site with free articles (boy is it hard to find ones that don’t make you shudder: all that nonsense about meta tags and PR). Thus the site lost it’s personality leaving me even less interesting in writing for it.
Eventually the site was penalized by Google - fairly - for the affiliate program page generators I was running on the site. Now it is just an affiliate site. Soon I’ll probably park it.
I took much of the content and put it elsewhere. And preserved a little of it here.
The urge to write about maintaining websites seems to be returning. I think I’ll be sharing my experiences more.
Not that this will be a site you’d turn to for expertise. Much of it is apt to be tales of incompetence.

I know what you mean.
There are so many blogs about being a webmaster that they just blend together.
And if you work on sites every day it seems as exciting as breathing.
Good luck!
